Action Youth exists to develop urban student leaders who positively influence their community. Action Youth envisions student leaders who are actively engaged in changing their community by identifying issues and creating solutions. Action Youth Student Leaders have an awareness of community development and what their role is in that process. Action Youth Student Leaders have progressed through the education system on to successful careers in corporate america, politics, the education system, community organizations, faith institutions, etc. and use this position to create strategic, significant, and sustainable positive change in their community. They are now a part of the solution and not a part of the problem. Action Youth develops urban student leaders by teaching the value of healthy life choices, academic excellence and leading to serve via a daily in-class elective while also strategically placing student in close mentoring relationships with community leaders.
